Welcome to Old School Flats. We operate a 70 acre farm located on Six Mile Creek in Cooran on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Our property is steeped in local history. It was the site of the original Cooran State School built in 1890 as well as being on the direct route of the Cobb and Co. coaches making their way from Brisbane to Gympie and beyond. The name "Old School Flats" was inspired both by the history of the property in conjunction with our approach to farming.

At Old School Flats we are boutique farmers of heritage breed pigs. All our livestock live their entire lives in the paddock and are all chemical, hormone and antibiotic free. The breeds we run comprise of Large Black, Berkshire and Wessex Saddlebacks. The Heritage breed pigs are slower growing and are not suited to intensive farming practices, which suits the organic practices that we employ on the property. The pigs that we raise are renowned for their marbling, similar to Wagyu in cattle and the pork that is produced is some of the best on the market.

We supply pork locally to Eumundi Smokehouse at Cooroy, where Kaz processes our pigs into "Old School"  bacon, fermented sausages, prosciutto and pancetta.
